If you've read through the Resolutions made by Jonathan Edwards you'd know they pack a fair few punches for the Christian reader. Jonathan Edwards wrote them when he was 19 and 20, in two sittings, and apparently read them every week of his life.
Alan has been reading through them a chunk at a time with a student he's meeting up with, and is going to be spending the next few weeks sharing some reflections they've had while reading through and considering each one.
Here's the first one to wrap your head around:
"Resolved, that I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God’s glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriad’s of ages hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general. Resolved to do this, whatever difficulties I meet with, how many and how great soever."
Stay tuned!
