I (Mikey) have been visiting our Fellowship Groups over the last few weeks and wanted to share with you my impressions of a couple of them:
Teaching: This is small group of four students has great warmth. As these students are adjusting to the transition from study to work, they are facing many new issues and greatly appreciate the opportunity to share their experiences with one another and to pray for one another.
Med Christian Group: A group of 6 or more Med students meet in various homes to share a devotion, eat yummy cake and pray for opportunities to share the gospel at uni and for world mission. This group is amazingly motivated and energetic, even though they are so busy with their degree.
Arts/Fine Arts: Very casual and friendly. They meet first at the Retro Cafe to enjoy something to drink and to catch up, before moving on to a nearby park to pray for one another's friends. I wonder what they'll do now the weather is getting colder?
Science/Engineering: One of our largest groups, they enjoy strong leadership from Chris Ives, who carefully prepares a Bible teaching segment which leads into discussion. Chris also prints out prayer points both for the Uni Fellowship and for the wider ministry of AFES around the country.
